Jordan Henderson: 'Liverpool capable of much more'

Liverpool defender Jordan Henderson insists that he has been frustrated with some of his side's performances despite a strong start to the season.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has declared that the Reds have only given a glimpse of their full potential so far this season, insisting that they show much more in training on a daily basis.

The Reds have made a strong start to their second season under Brendan Rodgers, with last weekend's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace keeping them level on points with table-toppers Arsenal.

Henderson believes that the Reds will continue to grow as Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez develop an understanding in attack, backing the squad to sustain a challenge at the top this season.

He told The Mirror: "The results have been pleasing, but there is a lot of improvement for us as a team. We have a lot of work to do still, we need to continue building on what we have achieved so far.

"We are not playing at the level we know we can. The manager has spoken a lot to us about continuing to improve, it's frustrating when you see in training how good we are as a group.

"We've got a lot of good players and he wants us to perform at our best every single game and at the highest level. We know we can get better. At the moment, we are scoring goals and we are good going forward, but there are a few areas the manager wants us to improve on."

The 23-year-old has been ever-present for Liverpool so far this season, showing versatility to feature nine times in all competitions.
