Chris Hughton: 'Liverpool made us pay for mistakes'

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton reveals his disappointment at the amount of mistakes made by his side in the defeat to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has admitted that his side made too many mistakes in the loss to Liverpool at Carrow Road.

The Canaries were thrashed 5-2 by the Reds, thanks largely to a Luis Suarez hat-trick, and Hughton conceded that his side gifted the match to their opponents.

"It's a bad day for us. You can't afford a very clinical Liverpool side the chances we gave them today," he told BBC Sport. "We've made some bad mistakes.

"We have added to our own downfall and that is what has disappointed me."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has praised his side following their first win of the Premier League season.
