Liverpool defender Glen Johnson believes that the Reds deserved to defeat Swansea City after replays showed that Jose Enrique's goal was wrongly ruled offside.

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson believes that the Reds should have taken all three points against Swansea City.

The Merseyside outfit were denied a goal in the 11th minute of the clash, which ended 0-0, after Jose Enrique's effort was declared offside, despite replays showing differently.

"I've seen it again and I think it should have been given," the Liverpool Echo quotes Johnson as saying. "There's no daylight between Jose and the last defender. His feet are in line with him.

"His arm is offside but you can't score with your arm. If it's a part of your body you can't score with then it doesn't matter.

"I always thought that when it's tight like that they are supposed to favour the attacking player. It's frustrating for us. I can understand why the assistant has flagged for offside but you see them given. The benefit of the doubt should go to the attacker."

Liverpool are currently 11th in the league table.
