Jurgen Klopp has defended Sadio Mane after the Liverpool forward was lucky to escape a red card in Saturday's 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.
The Senegal star was booked on 24 minutes after he fell theatrically following a challenge from James McArthur.
Mane, who drew the Reds level early in the second half, went to ground again just after the hour under pressure from Andros Townsend and picked up the ball on the edge of the area.
Referee Neil Swarbrick gave the opposition a free kick but did not show Mane a second yellow card, the Reds going on to win late on through Mohamed Salah's 29th Premier League goal of the season.
"I saw the first incident once and it looked like a clear penalty," Klopp told Sky Sports News.
"Yes, he goes down late but there was contact there. The referee doesn't agree and says it's a dive but for me it's a penalty and no yellow card.
"The second one is a foul on Sadio and yes, he puts his hand on the ball which is a second yellow, so we were lucky in that instance but not over the course of 90 minutes because the first one wasn't a yellow card."
Mane was sent off against Manchester City in September for a dangerous challenge on Ederson.
