Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he may not necessarily leave Liverpool at the end of his contract in 2024.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has left the door open to a longer stay at Anfield.

When penning a contract until the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign, Klopp suggested that he would take a year-long sabbatical at the end of his deal.

While the German still intends to take a break from football when he departs the Merseyside giants, it appears that he is prepared to contemplate an extended spell at the Premier League champions.

Speaking to Einfach Fussbal's Leeroy Matata on Youtube, Klopp said: "A lot of people ask me this question. I have never heard someone ask Pep Guardiola about that but his contract ends next year.

"I've got four years left which feels like an eternity in football. A lot can happen during this time. I would assume that in four years I will think about whether to renew or not.

"If I don't renew, I'll go on holiday. When I leave Liverpool, I won't take a new job the next day. That's for sure. I will take a one-year break after Liverpool."

Klopp arrived at Liverpool in 2015, already overseeing 267 matches in his five years in charge.
