Dirk Kuyt agrees Fenerbache move

Dirk Kuyt signs a three-year contract with Turkish side Fenerbache in a deal worth £1million.

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has signed a three-year contract with Turkish side Fenerbache in a deal worth £1million.

Kuyt, 31, leaves Anfield after six years, during which time he won the Carling Cup, and was a runner-up in the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League.

The deal is the first piece of business done by Liverpool under new boss Brendan Rodgers as he looks to stamp his authority on the club.

Kuyt arrived in England with a reputation as a prolific goalscorer, having netted 83 times in 122 apperances for Feyenoord.

However, then-Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez moved the Dutch striker out to the right wing, where he spent most of his Liverpool career.

Kuyt saw his first team opportunities limited by the arrivals of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing last season, and Rodgers seemingly didn't see the Holland international figuring in his plans for the club.

Kuyt, who scored 71 goals in 276 appearances for Liverpool, will join the Turkish league runners-up after Euro 2012.
