Adam Lallana eager to contribute more for Liverpool

Adam Lallana admits that he must produce more for Liverpool if he is to be considered a success after arriving from Southampton in the summer.

Adam Lallana has admitted that he must contribute more for Liverpool as he looks to handle the pressure piled on his shoulders after a summer move to Anfield.

Liverpool reportedly paid close to £25m to sign Lallana from Southampton, and he concedes that he is only just beginning to adapt to life at his new club, who have battled with inconsistent form in the early stages of the season.

"Joining a team like Liverpool [there] is definitely an adaption phase," the 26-year-old told members of the media. "I knew it wasn't going to be easy. After losing Luis Suarez and missing Daniel Sturridge up top lately, it's been difficult.

"I feel I am settling into the team nicely, albeit I want to up my contribution and help Liverpool win more games.

"It is a big difference coming from Southampton. I was expecting that. It is something I am gradually learning to deal with and it is something you just have to take on board - deal with."

Lallana is expected to be involved when England meet Slovenia at Wembley on Saturday.
