Brendan Rodgers: Liverpool are "horrible" to play against again

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers says that his side are "horrible" to play against once more after watching them take 23 points from a possible 27 this year.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has talked up the improvement that his side have made this year and described his team as "horrible" for opponents to play against.

A resurgent Reds side haven't lost since December and they have taken 23 points from a possible 27 since the turn of the year to significantly boost their hopes of landing a place in the top four of the Premier League.

The Northern Irishman told the Liverpool Echo: "Now we've regained our identity, the home form is so important for us. We are a horrible team to play against now. And that's how it was for 18 months.

"Teams coming [to Anfield] know we'll attack and defend with intensity and aggression. We didn't have that earlier in the season for a number of reasons.

"The purpose is back in our game. Chelsea and Man City came here and only had one shot on target. Man City didn't get a corner and then we restricted Burnley in midweek."

Rodgers's side host Blackburn Rovers in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday.
