Gary Bowyer: Liverpool FA Cup tie is "David versus Goliath"

Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer describes their FA Cup quarter-final with Liverpool as "David vs Goliath" and hails the Reds as "the most impressive team in the Premier League".

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has hailed Liverpool as "the most impressive team in the Premier League" ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final meeting.

The Championship side travel to Anfield on Sunday to face a Reds outfit who are unbeaten in 12 top-flight games and pushing for the Champions League places.

Bowyer concedes that Rovers are massive underdogs going into the game, but insists that there is a belief inside the squad that they can cause an upset.

"It's David versus Goliath," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "Nobody's giving us a chance outside of our dressing room.

"I think they're the most impressive team in the Premier League at the moment and the football that they're playing is fantastic. Obviously full credit to the manager for the way he changed his formation. We've studied the videos, we've come up with a game plan, and we've worked with the players on it. We'll go and take the challenge to Liverpool.

"We've been very organised and very disciplined in the previous meetings with the Premier League teams, and then of course along the way you need a bit of luck. The mood's one of excitement and rightly so. The lads have earned the right to play at Anfield with the performances in the previous rounds."

Blackburn have beaten Premier League sides Swansea City and Stoke City on their run to the last eight.
