Graeme Souness concerned about Liverpool's defensive 'vulnerabilities'

Graeme Souness questions Liverpool's chances of winning the Premier League title because of their 'vulnerable' defence.

Graeme Souness has questioned Liverpool's title credentials due to their defensive frailties.

Jurgen Klopp's men are level on 23 points with Manchester City and Arsenal, who sit first and second respectively in the Premier League table after 10 games.

The team's attacking prowess is evident having scored 24 league goals so far, but they have conceded 13 and kept just one clean sheet in the top flight.

"On the front foot, they are as good as anyone - maybe the best - right now," Souness told talkSPORT. "They are fabulous.

"But when the game changes, when you don't dominate from start to finish, you have got to sense that. They look a wee bit vulnerable at times when they don't dominate the game.

"Maybe the wide midfield players have to play a wee bit narrower, the full-backs don't wander, and you have got to sense that. It doesn't have to come from the manager."

Liverpool's next game is at home to Watford on Sunday.
