Neil Warnock eyeing Liverpool scalp

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock reveals that he wants to get one over on Brendan Rodgers by beating Liverpool in their Premier League game after the international break.

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has earmarked the potential scalp of Liverpool in his side's next Premier League outing after the international break.

In their last meeting at Selhurst Park, the Eagles all but ended Brendan Rodgers's side's title hopes as they bounced back from three goals down to claim a point against the Reds.

Warnock feels that Liverpool may still hold the psychological scars from that game, and believes that if his side can play to their best, they can earn a positive result.

He told reporters: "I like Brendan but I would love to put one over on him. He's a top manager. I like him and we have had one or two good games against each other.

"With the players he's got and the money he has spent, they will be confident, but we're looking forward to it. It will be a good one. What happened last year may be on their minds. What a game it was. I wasn't even here then, but I was jumping up and down.

"It was really disappointing for them because they really did throw it away. But that's what Selhurst can be like. If we're on our game that night, we can get a good result."

Palace are 17th in the Premier League following their defeat to Manchester United in their last outing.
