Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi dismisses rumours that the French club are looking to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has refuted rumours suggesting that Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool for the Parc des Princes in 2025.

The Egypt international is facing an uncertain future at Anfield, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Last month, Salah revealed that there had been no contract offers from Liverpool, admitting that he felt "more out than in".

Salah is believed to be exasperated by the current situation, even though he is reportedly keen to sign a new deal with the Merseyside club.

Al-Khelaifi plays down Salah rumours

French champions PSG have been mooted as a potential destination for Salah if he fails to agree a new contract with Liverpool.

However, PSG president Al-Khelaifi has dismissed claims that his club are looking to sign the Liverpool star in 2025.

"It's not true. He's a fantastic and amazing player, but we've never considered him, to be honest," Al-Khelaifi said at the ECA conference on Tuesday.

"We know every club would love to have him, but this rumour about us is simply not true."

Al-Khelaifi opens up on January transfer plans

Luis Enrique's side are currently sitting seven points clear at the top of Ligue 1 after winning 10 and drawing three of their 13 league games this season.

However, PSG are experiencing a difficult Champions League campaign, with the French giants sitting in 25th place in the league phase after taking just four points from five matches.

With PSG searching for improvement in Europe, Al-Khelaifi has not ruled out the prospect of strengthening the squad in January.

"There are a lot of rumours about players, but we are very clear," Al-Khelaifi added. "We have one of the youngest teams in Europe, if not the youngest, with an average age of 22.5 years. We're building a team for the future with our amazing coach.

"We have a long-term plan with this team and coach. Our players are united, and it's a fantastic group with a great atmosphere. In my opinion, we have the best coach in the world right now. He's building a project for the future. Results matter, but we remain focused on our project.

"There are always rumours in the media - they want to sell newspapers. But I believe in our project, our system, our coach, and our plan. If there's an opportunity (to sign players in January), we will of course explore."

PSG will be back in action on Friday evening when they travel to Stade de l'Abbe Deschamps for a league meeting with Auxerre.
