Liverpool have reportedly identified Fluminense midfielder Andre as a potential signing before the end of the summer transfer window.
Throughout 2023, it has been well documented that Jurgen Klopp will be in the market for midfielders ahead of 2023-24 courtesy of the expected departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
However, as well as that aforementioned trio moving on to pastures new, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have also left for the Saudi Pro League, leaving Klopp with fewer options than he anticipated.
Although Alexis Mac Allister has been signed from Brighton & Hove Albion, the Merseyside giants arguably require a bare minimum of two more fresh faces for the centre of the pitch.
In recent days, it has been well documented that Liverpool are attempting to successfully negotiate a deal with Southampton for Romeo Lavia.

As it stands, the Saints, who have been relegated to the Championship, are yet to budge on their £50m price tag, resulting in Liverpool failing with numerous bids for the Belgium international.
Nevertheless, according to Sky Sports News, Liverpool are not prepared to rest on their laurels, instead scouring the market for alternatives.
The report suggests that Andre also features towards the top of their shortlist having made a positive impact in the Fluminense engine room.
A total of 145 appearances have been made by the 22-year-old, with a total of three goals and three assists being contributed by the defensive-minded player.

Such has been Andre's progress at Maracana that he has also been provided with his debut for Brazil, playing 16 minutes of the recent defeat to Senegal.
With over three years remaining on Andre's contract, Fluminense do not necessarily have to be in a rush to part ways with one of their most prized assets.
That said, it is claimed that a proposal worth £20m may prove enough to get a deal over the line with the player said to want the transfer to Anfield.
Stefan Bajcetic, Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott are Klopp's current options in midfield, while Trent Alexander-Arnold could theoretically switch there if Liverpool are able to sign a new right-back.
