Liverpool join Barcelona in making an initial approach to sign Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain before his contract expires, according to a report.

Liverpool have reportedly initiated contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for in-demand midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The France international is understood to have rejected a new contract offer from PSG, meaning that he has just six months left to run on his existing deal.

Despite bringing in Fabinho and Naby Keita during the summer, Liverpool are one of a number of sides to have been credited with an interest in soon-to-be free agent Rabiot.

L'Equipe reports that both Barcelona and Liverpool have made an initial approach for 23-year-old, who is hoping for an increase on his current £55,000-a-week wages.

Rabiot, free to speak to clubs from the start of next month, has started 15 Ligue 1 and Champions League matches for the French champions this term.
