Liverpool are reportedly preparing a £10m bid for Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield since Brendan Rodgers took the reins following Kenny Dalglish's departure.
Rodgers recently hinted that he could make a move for Allen before the start of the season.
According to The Metro, the Reds hope to clinch the deal within the next week, preferably before the start of the Olympics.
Allen is a part of Stuart Pearce's 18-man Team GB squad for the Games in London.
