Liverpool are reportedly still planning to move for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate despite announcing pre-tax losses of £46m.

Liverpool reportedly have no intention of scrapping their plan to move for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.

The Merseyside giants have been linked with the France international for a number of weeks as they consider their options in the transfer market.

Earlier this week, Liverpool announced pre-tax losses of £46m, a development which has the potential to restrict their activity during the summer window.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Liverpool will still look to activate the £40m release clause of the 21-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp may still have to sell a couple of his squad members to help fund a move for the centre-back, a position which will be overloaded with players when the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez return from injury.

While Konate has also spent time on the sidelines, he has made four appearances in the Bundesliga during April.
