Liverpool transfer news: Premier League giants unlikely to move for 24-year-old La Liga defender?

Liverpool reportedly have little intention of making a formal approach for a defender who currently plies his trade in La Liga.

Liverpool reportedly have no plans to make a move for a Sevilla defender in the near future.

Despite suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, Arne Slot can be satisfied with the start that he has made at Anfield.

Three victories, three clean sheets and seven goals came from the opening fixtures, despite a new centre-back having not arrived during the last transfer window.

That has left Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez as his fourth options for the middle of the backline.

However, with Van Dijk now 33 year of age and with less than 12 months remaining on his contract, Liverpool officials and Slot are naturally having to assess potential successors.

Bade not on Liverpool radar

Over the weekend, a report emerged that the Merseyside outfit were taking an interest in signing Loic Bade at some point in the future.

After a failed loan stint with Nottingham Forest at the start of 2022-23, the Frenchman has since kick-started his career in Spain with Sevilla.

Although the Spanish side have been struggling of late, the 24-year-old has 63 appearances and a Europa League trophy to his name.

Furthermore, Bade was part of the France side that earned a silver medal at the recent Olympics, keeping him on an upwards trajectory.

Nevertheless, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, there is no indication that Liverpool have any plans to make a formal approach for his signature in 2025.

New, deal, release clause

Just 14 months on from completing a permanent transfer to Sevilla, Bade opted to pen a new contract at the start of this month.

Moretto adds that a €60m (£50.62m) release clause has been included in the deal, which runs until the end of 2028-29.

While it is plausible that an interested club could look to meet that fee if Bade continues to impress, it is alleged that Liverpool do not possess that level of interest.
