Mario Gotze has delivered a blow to Liverpool after indicating that he intends to stay at Bayern Munich.
Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a £20m move for the midfielder, who played under the German boss during the pair's time together at Borussia Dortmund.
Gotze moved to the Allianz Arena from Dortmund in 2013, but has struggled to cement a regular starting spot in the team under manager Pep Guardiola having made just 12 appearances.
It was recently reported that incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti planned to sell Gotze this summer, but the German World Cup winner wants to stay.
"I look forward to the new season in Munich and will do everything possible to be in top shape for my first training session under Carlo Ancelotti," Bild quotes Gotze as saying.
Gotze, who has also been linked with a return to Dortmund, will travel to France with his Germany teammates for Euro 2016 next month.
