Divock Origi 'won't cut short Lille loan to join Liverpool this month'

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will reportedly not bring Divock Origi to Anfield early as he wants to keep faith in his current attackers.

Divock Origi will reportedly stay in Lille for the remainder of the season, despite Liverpool's attempts to cut short the striker's loan and bring him to Anfield this month.

The Belgium international signed for the Reds last summer for a reported £10m fee, but was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 club.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed last week that discussions had been held about possibly bringing Origi into the fold midway through the season, but it is believed that this will now not go ahead.

According to the Daily Mail, Rodgers has decided to keep faith with his current strikeforce of Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert.

Raheem Sterling has also been providing a goal threat for Liverpool, while injury-plagued Daniel Sturridge is closing in on a return to action.
