Report: Jurgen Klopp wants Robert Lewandowski at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp wants Robert Lewandowski to spearhead his Liverpool revolution after taking charge of the Reds.

Newly-appointed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made plans to reunite with in-form Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski at Anfield at some point.

The German coach only replaced Brendan Rodgers on Thursday, but the 48-year-old is already plotting ways to improve the Reds, having vowed to deliver at least one Premier League title.

Ex-Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp signed the Pole from Lech Poznan in 2010 for a reported £4m, with Lewandowski going on to score over 100 goals during his four seasons at Signal Iduna Park.

He lost him to bitter rivals Bayern in 2014 but, according to The Mirror, Klopp is desperate for his former protege to spearhead his revolution on Merseyside.

Liverpool are not in short supply of strikers, with Christian Benteke - who cost £32m in July - Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi all at the club, while Mario Balotelli is on loan at AC Milan.

Lewandowski, whose contract with the Bavarians expires in 2019, has struck 21 times for club and country already this season.
