Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Luis Suarez will remain with the Merseyside club and that the striker is excited about the new season.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a switch away from Anfield this summer, with Juventus thought to be keen on the Uruguayan international, who experienced a turbulent season with the Premier League outfit.
"I've had a brilliant chat with Luis," Rodgers told talkSPORT. "He's really looking forward to being here and we are obviously hoping that we can get him on to another new contract. He's really looking forward to the new season."
The Northern Irishman also claimed that he is hopeful of bringing in a number of new additions to the club.
"I'm looking forward to bringing in three or four players that can really affect the group," he added. "I've got a wonderful group of players here at the moment."
One particular transfer target was Hoffenheim midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, who looks likely to snub the Reds in favour of a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
