Nuri Sahin is determined to lead Liverpool to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool midfielder Nuri Sahin is determined to lead the Reds to a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The 23-year-old joined the Merseyside club from Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal over the weekend.

"Of course, Liverpool have to play in the Champions League," Sahin told Sky Sports News.

"A big club like Liverpool have to play every year in the Champions League and we will do everything to get into the top four.

"Also there is FA Cup, the League Cup and the Europa League, and with this potential we have here we can reach some good things I think at the end of the season."

Sahin signed for Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2011 but failed to establish himself at the Santiago Bernabeu last season.
