Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that Luis Suarez is "happy" to remain at Anfield following talks with the striker's agent.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed that he expects striker Luis Suarez to knock back any advances from potential suitors this summer to remain at Anfield.

The Uruguay international has been linked with a big-money move to Bayern Munich, who will be led by ex-Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola next season.

While it has been suggested that the prolific forward could be swayed to move to a club with Champions League football, Rodgers has revealed that he has had positive talks with Suarez's agent Pere Guardiola, who is the brother of Bayern's new boss.

"Luis certainly deserves to be in the Champions League," The Express quotes Rodgers as saying. "Steven Gerrard deserves to be as well. A number of players deserve to be on that stage.

"Luis has been brilliant this year, but I haven't seen anything different that would make me feel he wouldn't be here. I had a great conversation with his agent. He came in and rolled it out that Luis was so happy here and he was keen over the next couple of years for the club to progress.

"He didn't have to say that. I was talking about the future and development and he was reciprocal in his conversation that Luis is loving it here."

Suarez has netted 25 goals so far in the Reds' campaign.
