West Ham United agree fee for Andy Carroll with Liverpool

West Ham United agree a fee to sign Liverpool striker Andy Carroll on an initial loan deal, according to reports.

West Ham United have agreed a fee with Liverpool to sign Andy Carroll on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, according to reports.

BBC Sport understands that the Hammers will pay an initial £2m fee to sign Carroll on loan for this season, with a view to a £17m permanent transfer.

The 23-year-old's future at Anfield has been the subject on intense speculation this summer, with Newcastle United and AC Milan also linked with a move for the target man.

Carroll joined Brendan Rodgers's squad on their pre-season tour of North America last week but is not viewed as part of the new manager's long-term plans.

Hammers' boss Sam Allardyce has been vocal with his interest in signing Carroll and will be delighted with the news a fee has been agreed.

If Carroll can agree terms on a move to east London he may make his debut in West Ham's return to the Premier League against Aston Villa on August 18.
