Lyon have suffered a setback in their attempt to reduce the lead on Ligue 1 leaders Marseille with a 1-1 draw at Lorient on Sunday.
The first chance of the game fell to Lorient in the fourth minute when Lamine Kone's header from an Alain Traore cross went high over the crossbar.
Two minutes later Bafetimbi Gomis hit the Lorient post for Lyon with a left-footed shot from outside the box.
Traore and Jeremie Aliadiere had chances for the home side in the subsequent minutes before Gomis had his shot saved by Fabien Audard.
Lyon then went ahead in the 23rd minute as Gomis turned in Alexandre Lacazette's cross from close range.
Lorient could have equalised just moments later had Remi Vercoutre not been able to keep out Traore's shot from outside the box.
The hosts ended the first half strongly and equalised two minutes into the second half, Aliadiere slotting home Benjamin Corgnet's cross.
Gomis could have put Lyon 2-1 up in the 49th minute when he was sent through by Clement Grenier, but his shot was off target.
Lorient created further chances through Traore and Kevin Monnet-Paquet but failed to convert them.
