Malaga have been held to a goalless draw by Sevilla in their La Liga encounter at La Rosaleda.

Alvaro Negredo flashed an early shot wide for the visitors before Ignacio Camacho blasted his effort off target at the other end soon after.

Negredo missed the target again midway through the first half, while Ivan Rakitic has his effort kept out by Malaga goalkeeper Idriss Kameni as the visitors went in on top at the break.

The best chance of a lively second half fell the way of Rakitic, but the Croatian somehow headed wide from Negredo's cross on 77 minutes.

However, there was little in the way of attacking intent from either side in the final stages as they both settled for a share of the spoils.
