Joe Hart: 'Manchester City ready to kick-start Champions League campaign'

Joe Hart hopes that Man City can beat Roma and kick-start their Champions League season after defeat to Bayern in their Group E opener.

Joe Hart has said that he and his Manchester City teammates are ready to put their Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich behind them and beat Roma tonight.

Manuel Pellegrini's side got their European campaign underway with a loss as the Citizens went down 1-0 in Munich a fortnight ago.

Roma are yet to drop a point this season and thumped CSKA Moscow 5-1 in their Group E opener, a run of form that the City goalkeeper hopes will come to an end at the Etihad Stadium.

"It's obviously a big game for us," Hart told reporters. "It was disappointing to start with the loss out in Munich but it's the Champions League and luckily it's not knockout straight away.

"We need to start our home Champions League campaign with a win but we know Roma will be tough.

"We're more than up for this. We know how well Roma have been playing but we are ready."

Kickoff at Eastlands is scheduled for 7.45pm.
