Barcelona's Andres Iniesta wary of Manchester City challenge

Andres Iniesta admits that Manchester City will pose a "tough" challenge to Barcelona in the Champions League last 16.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has admitted that winning against Manchester City in the Champions League will not be easy.

The Spanish champions will take on the Premier League outfit in the first leg of their last-16 tie at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

"Of course we are expecting two very tough games against City - they have players that would get into any squad in Europe," The Mirror quotes the 29-year-old as saying.

"We have to show them respect - because they have so many players that are capable of causing us problems.

"They are used to scoring many goals in their games in England - but we will represent a different challenge. They won't find things has easy has they have been in England."

Iniesta has also underlined the importance of keeping City midfielder David Silva under check in the first leg.

"Many of the players at Barcelona know David Silva very well," said the Spain international.

"It is very simple - he is one of the best and most intelligent players in the world. It will not be an easy job keeping him quiet - but it is something we must try and do."

Barcelona are currently joint-top of La Liga with 60 points from 24 matches.
