Joleon Lescott is confident that Manchester City can reach the final 16 of the Champions League despite a difficult start in the elite competition.

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott is confident that the North West side can secure a spot in the final 16 of the Champions League with a win over Napoli.

Roberto Mancini's side have had a mismatched start to their European campaign, with a defeat to Bayern Munich and a draw to tomorrow's Italian opponents.

"There's a lot to play for and if we win we qualify though I'm sure they'll be thinking the same kind of thing," The Mirror quotes Lescott as saying.

"But we need to go there knowing that if we don't win, it's not the end of the world.

"We've still got to play Bayern at home in our final game, but we're confident we can beat most teams."

The Premier League leaders travel to Italy to face Napoli tomorrow.
