Kevin De Bruyne calls on Manchester City to 'maintain focus'

Kevin De Bruyne talks up the potential of Manchester City to dominate at home and abroad after winning their first piece of silverware under Pep Guardiola.

Kevin De Bruyne has insisted that the 'potential for Manchester City is amazing' if they can maintain their focus and push on both domestically and in Europe.

The Citizens ticked off the first of a possible treble by easing past Arsenal 3-0 in Sunday's EFL Cup final clash at Wembley Stadium, getting the job done through goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

Key playmaker De Bruyne again put in a good shift for City, who also remain on course to win the Premier League and Champions League before the season comes to an end.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, the Belgium international admitted that it is important City now keep their eye on the prize, ticking off each game as they come.

"Obviously last time I missed the final through injury, but I'm very happy we won it, we deserved to win," he said. "Now we go onto Thursday [against Arsenal in the league].

"We have had a good season already, and now we need to keep going. We have this one in the bag and now we have to maintain the same focus in the Premier League and the Champions League. The potential for this club is amazing, and the way we play is probably one of the best in the world."

City's hopes of winning an unprecedented treble came to end earlier this week following a shock 1-0 loss to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.
