Gary Owen believes that Carlos Tevez will 'get his wish' to leave Manchester City in January after the striker's controversial actions in Germany.

Former Manchester City midfielder Gary Owen believes that Carlos Tevez will ‘get his wish’ in January if the club decide to sell him after his controversial actions in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old refused to come on as a substitute to help City revive their two-goal deficit in the second half of the match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Blues boss Roberto Mancini heavily criticised the Argentina international and claimed that the striker was “finished” at the Premier League club.

Owen echoed the manager’s comments and believes that the frontman has already “cut his bridges” with the North West side.

“In any other work if you refuse to do your job you would be sacked or you would be suspended without pay,” Owen told talkSPORT.

“He’s cut his bridges now, let’s say goodbye to him in the January window. Every player has his price, we might have to get rid of him for less money but if there is a club who can cut their losses it's Manchester City.

“He’s never been complimentary about the city he lives in, he actually stated that he’d never come back to Manchester once he’d left. Well he might be getting that wish very shortly."

Meanwhile, Mancini has revealed that he will organise a meeting with club chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak to discuss the future of Tevez in the next few days.
