John Hartson: Wilfried Bony move is "great business" for Swansea City

John Hartson believes that Swansea City's sale of Wilfried Bony to Manchester City is "great business" for the Welsh club.

Former Wales striker John Hartson believes that Wilfried Bony's move to Manchester City is "great business" for Swansea City.

The champions confirmed the transfer of the powerful Ivory Coast international on Wednesday for a reported fee of around £28m.

Bony joined the Swans from Vitesse for £12m back in the summer of 2013, and ex-Arsenal man Hartson thinks that the deal is one that is beneficial to both clubs.

He told talkSPORT: "You never want to lose your best players, but when you can make more than double your money on a player then it's great business.

"Man City are getting themselves a really good player, too. The deal suits both clubs.

"Swansea are a money-making machine. They are a leading club in terms of how it's run with a couple of local businessmen rather than foreign owners. They deserve an awful lot of credit."

Bony, who is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, will wear the number 14 shirt at the Etihad.
