Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been dealt an injury concern after pulling up with a calf strain during a pre-season friendly against Arsenal.
The Belgium international was taken off by the Premier League champions during a 2-0 victory over the Gunners in China, with Pablo Zabaleta and Yaya Toure getting on the score sheet.
While Kompany was forced to leave the field, it is understood that the decision was made as a precaution, which is unlikely to hamper the defender's fitness for the start of the new season.
Kompany signed a new six-year deal with the North-West club earlier this week.
