Vincent Kompany "would love" to face Scottish sides in Premier League

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany admits that he "would love" to face Scottish sides in the Champions League after Scotland voted 'no' to independence.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has given his opinion on the Scottish referendum by claiming that he would be more than happy to face clubs based in Scotland in the Premier League.

The debate of Scottish sides Celtic and Rangers being included in England's top flight has been ongoing for some time, but the outcome of yesterday's referendum could have made it impossible.

Scotland voted 'no' to independence, which prompted Kompany to tweet: "Scotland votes No. Hard to look past those headlines. Just my opinion: would love to face some Scottish sides in the Premier League."

Meanwhile, City are preparing to face Premier League rivals Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
