Joleon Lescott praises Micah Richards' form and tips him to be the best right-back in the world.

Joleon Lescott believes that his Manchester City teammate Micah Richards has the potential to become one of the best right-backs in the world.

Richards excelled in City's 3-1 victory over Newcastle United yesterday, a result which maintained the league leaders' unbeaten start to the season.

Despite his recent international snub, Lescott believes the full-back's current form makes him the best in the country and has tipped the 23-year-old to shine on the world stage.

"Micah has been in immense form all season," the City defender told the club's official website.

"He is in the best form of his career and has the world at his feet.

"I would say he is the best right-back in the league just now. If he continues this form he will be the best in the world."

Richards made his City debut in 2005.
