Manchester City have cancelled Pep Guardiola's press conference on Friday afternoon, with the club's head coach returning an inconclusive COVID-19 test result.
Coronavirus is currently causing chaos in the Premier League, with outbreaks of the virus taking place in a number of squads, while five matches scheduled for this weekend have already been cancelled.
Guardiola was due to speak to the media on Friday to preview Sunday's Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
However, Man City cancelled the press conference after the Spaniard returned an inconclusive COVID-19 test result, with the club waiting on the outcome of a PCR test.
Guardiola made the trip to Spain earlier this week to attend Sergio Aguero's news conference, as the Argentine announced his retirement from professional football.
A positive PCR result would force the head coach to isolate for 10 days, meaning that he would be unavailable to lead the team against Newcastle on Sunday, in addition to the Boxing Day clash with Leicester City.
