Manchester City coach David Platt reveals his delight with the strength of the club's squad.

Manchester City first-team coach David Platt has revealed that he is happy with the balance of the club's squad.

The Premier League champions made as many as five signings on transfer deadline day and Platt has revealed that manager Roberto Mancini is pleased with how his squad has come together.

Platt said: "We're delighted. I think if you look at the balance of the squad, it's there.

"If you look at the strength in depth, it's there. The manager is quite pleased with it."

Manchester City return to Premier League action on Saturday when they play Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
