Manchester City are held to a goalless draw at the Hawthorns as their lead at the top of the Premier League is cut to goal difference.

Manchester City's lead at the top of the Premier League table has been cut down to just goal difference following today's 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.

Visiting City enjoyed the large majority of the possession, but were unable to find a way past Ben Foster in the Baggies goal.

The former England international denied both Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli during the opening 45 minutes.

West Brom's best chance of the match came 15 minutes after the restart, when Jerome Thomas crossed for Shane Long at the back post. However, the Republic of Ireland international's header went inches wide of Joe Hart's upright.

Balotelli had two chances to give City the lead shortly after, but one effort struck the bar while the other was disallowed for offside.

City substitute Edin Dzeko went close to snatching all three points in stoppage time but his close-range headed effort dropped wide of goal.
