Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of Monday's Premier League clash with Brentford.

Bidding to keep pace with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, Manchester City travel south to meet Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday.

Pep Guardiola's treble winners made light work of Burnley in the midweek batch of matches, triumphing 3-1 thanks to a Julian Alvarez brace and crisp Rodri strike.

The reigning champions enter the weekend occupying second place in the rankings with a five-point gap to make up to Liverpool, who have played one more match but can increase their advantage with victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the Bees, who were bested 3-2 by Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: February 5 (vs. Brentford)

Currently the only occupant of the Man City medical bay, Manuel Akanji did not make the cut to face Burnley owing to the knee issue he sustained in early January, but he is being put through his paces in training and is in with a strong chance of making a comeback in West London.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST
