Switzerland boss Ottmar Hitzfeld claims that Bayern Munich do not need to sign another striker.

Switzerland boss Ottmar Hitzfeld has insisted that Bayern Munich do not need to sign Manchester City striker Eden Dzeko.

It has been suggested that the German club will move for the Bosnian this summer, but the former Bayern boss does not believe that the club need another striker.

"Dzeko? I think Bayern already have enough strikers with the arrival of [Claudio] Pizarro, and with [Nils] Petersen staying put. It's not necessary to sign another top striker," Hitzfeld stated to TZ.

"That is unless the trainer decided to switch to a formation with two forwards. However, Bayern already have Gomez in their current 4-2-3-1 formation, with Pizarro as back-up. Another high-profile forward wouldn't even get to play."

Dzeko is expected to depart Manchester City this summer.
