Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is reportedly on the verge of signing a new long-term deal at the club.
The 28-year-old Belgian international's current terms with the Blues are due to expire in 2017.
However, Premier League champions City are keen to offer the centre-back a five-year extension, according to Goal.com.
Club officials are thought to see Kompany as a possible executive at the Etihad Stadium when he decides to end his playing career.
Kompany joined City from Hamburger SV in 2008 for around £6m.
