Manuel Pellegrini refutes Sergio Aguero exit talk

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini rules out the prospect of striker Sergio Aguero leaving the club in the summer.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has ruled out the prospect of striker Sergio Aguero leaving the club in the summer.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move away from Eastlands, with Real Madrid and Wednesday's Champions League opponents Barcelona rumoured to be interested in the striker.

However, the Chilean coach insists that the marksman - whose contract expires in 2017 - is content with life at the Etihad for the time being.

"I don't think the idea of Sergio is to leave Manchester City," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"Sergio is very happy here. You never know what can happen in the future, but he is a very important player here. Big clubs do not sell their best players and I don't think Sergio will be going anywhere."

The 25-year-old is expected to lead the line for City in Camp Nou tomorrow as Pellegrini's troops look to overturn a 2-0 first-leg defeat.
