Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri admits that he would welcome Mario Balotelli back to Italy with "open arms".

Inter Milan boss Claudio Ranieri has revealed that he would be more than willing to welcome back Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

The future of the 21-year-old has come under scrutiny on a number of occasions after reports emerged that the frontman was homesick and would one day want to return to Italy.

"I would welcome Balotelli with open arms," Ranieri told Corriere dello Sport. "He is a formidable talent.

"I have not spoken to the players in the changing room to understand if there is any aversion with regards to him."

The Italy international moved to the Etihad Stadium last year and has scored eleven goals for Roberto Mancini's side.
