Report: Manchester City want Diego Simeone

A report claims that Manchester City want Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to become their next manager when Manuel Pellegrini is relieved of his duties.

Manchester City reportedly want Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone to become their next manager if Manuel Pellegrini is relieved of his duties.

Despite winning the Premier League last season, it is understood that Pellegrini is under serious pressure due to his team's struggles in Europe.

It is believed that some senior figures at City are unsure if Pellegrini is the correct man to take the club to the next level.

According to the Daily Mail, Simeone, who is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the world, is on the wanted list at the Etihad.

Simeone led Atletico to their first La Liga title since 1996 last term, in addition to the final of the Champions League.
