Raul Jimenez: 'It's difficult to follow past Atletico Madrid strikers'

Raul Jimenez admits that he is feeling the pressure of following the strikers who have enjoyed success at Atletico Madrid in recent years.

Raul Jimenez has admitted that he has felt the pressure in the early days of his Atletico Madrid career due to the great strikers who have previously pulled on the club's shirt.

Diego Simeone has often used the Mexican striker from the bench since bringing him to the Spanish capital in the summer, and Jimenez concedes that he still has a lot to learn if he is to become a success with Atletico.

"It's not easy trying to match the likes of Diego Forlan, Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao," the 23-year-old told AS. "They are all great players who played their role in the team and delivered the goods when they came here.

"Even so, I have to make my own history and do what I came here to do - which is score goals.

"I'm learning new things every day and that's crucial as you always need to take advice from the best to keep growing as a player."

Jimenez has scored just one goal in seven games for Atletico this season.
