Bologna defender Aaron Hickey is reportedly preparing to undergo a medical with Brentford ahead of joining the Premier League club in a potential £14m deal.
The 20-year-old joined Bologna from Hearts in 2020 and has made 48 appearances for the Italian outfit over the last two seasons, including 36 outings in Serie A last term.
According to Sky Sports News, the Scotland international is set to travel to England to undergo a medical with Thomas Frank's side.
The report claims that Brentford had initially attempted to sign the defender in January but are now closing in on his signature, with the full-back set to pen a long-term deal with the London club.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for Villa since arriving from Manchester City in 2019, featuring on 111 occasions for the club over the last three seasons.
Luiz only has one year left to run on his contract at Villa Park, though, and Milan are believed to be keen to bring him to Serie A during the summer market.
The report claims that Steven Gerrard's side value the Brazilian in the region of £26m, but the Italian outfit are attempting to lower the asking price.

The Foxes are believed to be ready to part with the Belgium international during this summer's transfer window.
The report claims that Brendan Rodgers's side want a fee of between €13m (£11m) and €14m (£11.9m) for the midfielder, but Fiorentina are not prepared to pay that amount to sign him.
The 28-year-old, who still has two years left to run on his contract at King Power Stadium, spent last season on loan at Torino in Serie A, scoring twice and registering two assists in 24 appearances.
