Javan Vidal relishes regular football

Former Manchester City youngster Javan Vidal admits that he had to leave the club in order to improve as a player.

Former Manchester City youngster Javan Vidal has claimed that he has improved as a player since joining Stockport County last month.

The 23-year-old, who departed City in 2011 after failing to break into their first team, has impressed during his short spell with the Conference outfit.

"I am enjoying it at Stockport and I have worked hard to get as fit as I can and all I am missing is match practice," Vidal told Sky Sports News.

"Things have not really got going for me since I left Manchester City and I want to make up for lost time. I want to be playing football reguarly and I want to play at the highest level possible.

"I am on a short-term deal at the moment and I want to earn a long-term deal so that I can have some security and concentrate on my football. The next move is definitely important for me so that I can get back on track because regular football is what I need at this stage of my career."

It is understood that a host of Football League clubs are monitoring his development.
