Bayern Munich handed partial stadium closure

Bayern Munich are forced to close part of their stadium against Man Utd.

UEFA has ordered Bayern Munich to close part of their stadium for their upcoming Champions League tie with Manchester United as punishment for a homophobic banner displayed by fans.

Supporters of the German club were seen holding up an offensive sign during their team's draw with Arsenal on March 11.

The Bundesliga champions have now been sanctioned by European football's governing body following an investigation.

Bayern travel to Old Trafford for the first leg of their quarter-final on March 1 before welcoming United to the Allianz Arena on March 9.
