Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Champions League was not a surprise.

Danny Welbeck scored an important away goal for United at the Santiago Bernabeu before Cristiano Ronaldo got the hosts level in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

"Not a surprise the match, not a surprise the result," Mourinho told Sky Sports News.

"It is very open and I still think it will go to the last minute."

Madrid travel to Old Trafford for the second leg on March 5.
