Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly be appointed Manchester United's permanent boss if he manages to steer the Red Devils past Paris Saint-Germain in Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly be appointed Manchester United's permanent boss if he manages to steer the Red Devils past Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.

Solskjaer has won eight of his nine matches in charge of United and there have been calls for the Norwegian to be appointed the club's permanent boss, having overseen a huge change since replacing Jose Mourinho in December.

Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino is still seen as the favourite by many though, with United expected to take their time when it comes to appointing Mourinho's replacement.

However, according to The Sun, Solskjaer will be handed the full-time job if he manages to lead the team past PSG, with the first leg of their knockout-round tie due to take place at Old Trafford on February 12.

United will attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
